Mulesoft Developer

Touring is an important player in the world of constantly evolving mobility, both today and tomorrow, in Belgium or far beyond. We inform our customers and assist them during all their trips, so that they can enjoy their active life 'on the move' every day without any worries. As builders of multimodal solutions, we develop new products that anticipate the expectations of the customer. In this way we help our customers to make their mobility a successful experience.

For Touring it is self-evident: the customer is always in the center of our attention, today and in the future and in all possible circumstances.

Does our mission appeal to you? Do not hesitate and come join us as a Mulesoft Developer.

Touring is transforming its IT landscape towards an API-Led Architecture where applications are communicating between themselves and with the outside world through services using the Mulesoft ESB. These services are developed by the Integration and Processes Team, whose objective is to deliver highly secure, reliable, performant and reuseable services. This team is at the core of all our development projects.

Under guidance and monitoring of experienced team members, take an active part in the following activities:

  • Design and develop Service/API solutions to complex business problems involving management of volumes of data using the MuleSoft integration-based approach.
  • Build service orchestration by connecting services including but not limited to REST API, SOAP WebServices, SFTP, SalesForce and other platforms/protocols.
  • Build, deploy and monitor new MuleSoft artifacts.
  • Support existing MuleSoft applications, analyze and debug recurrent issues.
  • Document MuleSoft process flows with detailed technical specifications
  • Apply core design principles of scalability, maintainability, security and standard coding practices. Design comprehensive error handling and fault tolerance.
  • Improve overall system performance by increasing throughput and reducing turn-around time.
  • Develop automated test routines and perform testing via CI/CD.

Technical landscape: MuleSoft 4, RTF, Kafka, Salesforce, SAP, Legacy systems, mySQL.

From a technical perspective, Mulesoft is a highly specialised package. However, with a good dose of training and support and the right appetite for integration, any good Java programmer can learn how to use it and gradually master its features and complexities.

Touring is ready to provide the candidate with the appropriate training and support. We do not require prior experience of Mulesoft, but only strong capabilities and interest for Java and the building of complex, highly interconnected environments.

The ideal candidate will be graduated from an IT high school, and will have a first experience of developing Java applications. Exposure to API/Web communication tools and techniques (XML, JSON) and micro-service architectures would be a plus. Exposure to Agile software development principles would also be a plus.

On the personal side, we are looking for:

  • A team player, eager to help the team and succeed together.
  • A real tech profile, willing to put the hands in the dirt and explore new stuff.
  • A result-oriented attitude, focusing on producing the agreed deliverables.
  • A pragmatic approach, preferring to talk to colleagues and take action with them.
  • A flexible no-stress person, able to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • A lifelong learner, eager to discover new ideas, processes and techniques.
